San Francisco, California – The 2nd Asian American Music Conference (AAMC) returns on November 17, 2018 at the University of San Francisco (USF) in California, in partnership with the university’s Performing Arts & Social Justice and Asian Pacific American Studies Departments. The AAMC seeks to strengthen the Asian American music industry by equipping aspiring individuals with relevant skills and knowledge, while bringing together established music professionals and companies to develop key relationships. AAMC was originally launched in 2003 to 2006, with the goal of bringing together Asian Americans in music and of increasing representation in the mainstream music industry. Relaunched in 2017, this year’s AAMC focuses on helping artists determine the value of their work and music business education, as a continuation of its original goals for the Asian American music community.

The conference kicks off with a special pre-conference session at the Apple Store in Union Square, on Friday, November 9 and 16 in partnership with Today at Apple. In addition, a performance showcase at the historic Neck of the Woods music venue on November 10, highlights a select number of Asian American music artists who are gaining recognition in the music industry as well as a selection of up and coming artists chosen by a committee made up of non-profit arts organizations.
